Summary

Regenerate the server SDK from the current OpenAPI spec so newly shipped endpoints and models are in the client.

New methods include CheckGCPPubSub, CommentFeedback, feeds retention-policy get/set/delete plus run listing, UpsertUserInterests, DeleteUserInterests, and QueryCallRingAttempts. The regen also adds models for call-ring settled events, async import/export events, intent config, poll deletes, and extra moderation rule parameters.

Go is generated from protocol tag openapi-v239.67.0. The other SDKs are generated from local chat master (v239.67.0-41-ga617393029d). Those specs differ in one event default (export.moderation_logs.error on the protocol tag, export.review_queue.error on chat master) and in info.version.

Test plan

  • Unit tests (no live Stream app)
  • CI

📝 Walkthrough

The pull request expands REST client APIs for chat, common, feeds, moderation, and video. It also adds webhook event mappings and parser tests. Several existing query-parameter calls now use dictionary expansion with the same parameter names and values.

Changes: Chat request APIs

Layer / File(s) Summary
Chat request fields and query parameters
getstream/chat/*_rest_client.py
Both clients add optional fields for synchronous batch channel updates, poll-vote configuration, and reminder expiration. They also pass existing query parameters through dictionary expansion.

Common poll and Pub/Sub APIs

Layer / File(s) Summary
Poll and Pub/Sub request APIs
getstream/common/*_rest_client.py
Both clients add the GCP Pub/Sub check operation and poll configuration fields. get_poll_option accepts an optional user_id. Existing query parameters use dictionary expansion.

Feeds APIs

Layer / File(s) Summary
Activity, comment, and feed options
getstream/feeds/feeds.py, getstream/feeds/rest_client.py
Feed APIs add options for skipping existing activities, activity and comment inclusion, poll configuration, comment feedback, collection deletion, actor discarding, and pinned activities.
Feed management operations
getstream/feeds/rest_client.py
The client adds retention-policy and user-interest operations. Batch follow and unfollow methods accept an asynchronous option.

Moderation APIs

Layer / File(s) Summary
Moderation request fields and query parameters
getstream/moderation/*_rest_client.py
Both clients add optional fields for country, channel, ban behavior, intent configuration, and poll-related action payloads. Existing query parameters use dictionary expansion.

Video call APIs

Layer / File(s) Summary
Call ring requests and query parameters
getstream/video/*
Both clients add call ring-attempt queries and custom ring-call data. Both Call.ring wrappers forward the custom data.

Webhook event parsing

Layer / File(s) Summary
Event mappings and parser tests
getstream/webhook.py, getstream/tests/test_webhook.py
The webhook parser maps call ring settlement, export label results, feed comment feedback, and import events. Tests check the expected event classes. The webhook type annotations also use Union, Optional, and Dict.

Append new optional parameters after the existing parameters.

The new parameters are inserted into positional signatures in both ChatRestClient implementations. Existing positional calls can bind values to the wrong fields.

This affects channel_batch_update, cast_poll_vote, update_reminder, and create_reminder. Their request constructors use the bound values by keyword, so the request body can contain incorrect values.

No keyword-only contract prevents this. None of these signatures has a * separator.

Preserve existing positional arguments in both poll clients. The new config_key and config_team parameters precede existing optional parameters in five methods. create_poll("Survey", True, False, "Description") now sends "Description" as config_key instead of description. A positional user_id in a poll-option call can likewise become config_key. Existing calls can send incorrect data or fail.

Preserve existing positional argument bindings.

These new parameters precede existing parameters in public methods. An existing positional call can now send a value as a different request option. For example, follow_batch(follows, True) previously set create_users; it now sets _async, which FollowBatch rejects. Append new options after existing parameters, or otherwise preserve the old positional bindings in the generated API.

Do not send async to follow_batch.

When _async=True, follow_batch serializes async: true for /api/v2/feeds/follows/batch. The generated contract states that FollowBatch rejects this option and that only GetOrCreateFollows supports it. Remove _async from follow_batch; keep it in get_or_create_follows.

Remove the unsupported _async parameter from follow_batch and stop passing it to
FollowBatchRequest.to_dict(). Keep _async available in get_or_create_follows.

dataclasses-json 0.6.7 DataClassJsonMixin to_dict type validation serialization

💡 Result:

In **dataclasses-json 0.6.7**, `DataClassJsonMixin.to_dict()` is a serializer, not a runtime type validator:

- It returns `_asdict(self)`, recursively turning dataclasses and collections into dictionaries/lists, applying configured field encoders, exclusions, and letter-case transformations. By default, `encode_json=False`, so values aren’t necessarily converted to JSON-native types. ([raw.githubusercontent.com](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/lidatong/dataclasses-json/v0.6.7/dataclasses_json/api.py))
- Serialization does **not** check field values against their type annotations. An incorrectly typed value may still appear in the resulting dictionary; configured encoders can transform it, and failures may arise later when encoding JSON. `to_json()` calls `to_dict(encode_json=False)` and then JSON-encodes the result. ([raw.githubusercontent.com](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/lidatong/dataclasses-json/v0.6.7/dataclasses_json/api.py))
- Type coercion is primarily on **deserialization**: `from_dict()` decodes values using type hints (for example, coercing values to `int`, `str`, or `bool`). For schema-level validation, use `.schema().load(...)`; that uses Marshmallow. ([raw.githubusercontent.com](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/lidatong/dataclasses-json/v0.6.7/dataclasses_json/api.py))

These details are from the **0.6.7 tagged implementation**, not just current documentation. ([github.com](https://github.com/lidatong/dataclasses-json/releases?utm_source=openai))

Append new moderation parameters after existing positional parameters.

ban(target_user_id, banned_by_id) now binds the moderator ID to ban_from_future_channels. BanRequest.to_dict() does not validate annotations, so it serializes the ID under ban_from_future_channels and leaves banned_by_id unset. The request can be rejected by the API or apply the wrong moderation options.

The same positional break affects analyze, appeal, check, upsert_config, and submit_action in both moderation clients. Move every new parameter after the existing parameters.

Review comment at @getstream/moderation/async_rest_client.py at line 167:
Move newly added moderation parameters after all pre-existing parameters in the
affected method signatures in both moderation clients, including ban, analyze,
appeal, check, upsert_config, and submit_action. Preserve the original
positional argument order so calls such as ban(target_user_id, banned_by_id)
bind correctly; place the new parameters at the end of each signature.
