  • I have read and reviewed the documentation changes to the best of my ability.
  • If the change is significant, I have run the documentation site locally and confirmed it renders as expected.

Summary of changes

Document Codex ChatGPT device sign-in through Canvas, encrypted server persistence, refresh/disconnect semantics, and the API-key/manual fallback. Identify the compatible client/server release dependency and the separate Cloud App-API boundary.

Refs OpenHands/OpenHands#17372. Coordinate with SDK/Agent Server PR #5452 and Canvas PR #17851; keep draft until the matching implementation is released.

Source verification

Documentation diff and links were checked against source. Mintlify site preview
has not been run; upstream link checking requires maintainer approval for this
fork. Five real Windows Codex turns passed, including the corrected default
launcher; server restart, actual token refresh and browser reload passed.
The expiry predicate was forced for the real refresh. Windows guidance now
describes the standard Node/npm installation and built-in Codex preset.
Hosted Linux/canonical Docker acceptance passed with synthetic OAuth
lifecycle checks and separate real OpenAI device initiation/cancel.
Candidate packages are published in the author's fork, while
official registry publication and exact downstream pins remain maintainer gates.
Remote human authorization/model use, real account disconnect and natural
expiry remain unverified. The separate Cloud App API integration is outside
this public Agent Server contract.

Document the release dependency, server-owned credentials, refresh, disconnect,
and API-key/manual fallback options.
