openuserjs.org appears to be down #2088

Description

@tranhonganh102

What happened?

I tried to access https://openuserjs.org/, but the website does not load and appears to be down.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open a browser (Microsoft Edge 146.0.3856.109)
  2. Go to https://openuserjs.org/
  3. The page fails to load or shows an error

I have attached a screenshot of the issue.

What did you expect to happen?

The website should load normally and display the OpenUserJS homepage.

What the problem might be?

Possibly a server outage or downtime, but I’m not sure.

Sorry about the delay been extremely busy. For some reason it was just stopped... probably a bug in what keeps it alive... will go update it. Will be up and down a little bit while I do this.

Should be back up and running... I'll keep this open for a bit in case it recurs. Plus I'd like to know why it was in a stopped state. Not user related.

Weird... if I don't use the process manager it works everywhere.... hrmmm.... I'll let it run this way for a bit... but this can't be long term...

and there she goes... while I'm watching it... Hrmmm...

Need to go load my VM hardware... I won't be able to see site for a bit but will be back.

Back... updating VM as we speak ... site seems to be doing okay so far. Reupdated the deps we use at current version which can cause the tertiary (or more) sub-deps to fix things in their deps that creep in...

Updated some of our deps... will take a while for the traffic noise to calm down since it was in a stopped state... so you'll probably get some 503's cruising on the web site itself.

    Still monitoring...

There is a race condition with the process manager as well as a memory leak. However it is not in our Code... Most of this happened when node was upgraded about three days earlier and has persisted beyond that upgrade. This rings a bell from a few years back when the VPS itself had some issue.

We'll continue mitigating this and see if there can be any improvements.
