Priority: ➖ Normal Estimated code review effort: 4 (Complex) | ~45 minutes Change: Bug fix · Severity of issue fixed: Medium Merge Risk: ⚪ Minimal · up to The change keeps SQLite subset queries within the driver's parameter limit by binding IN lists as JSON and falling back to in-memory filtering. No concrete merge-blocking risk remains in the reviewed evidence. Security Architecture ReviewSecurity architecture risk: 🔵 Low · up to The change retains collection-scoped reads and result filtering. Whole-collection fallback can increase resource use, and behavior across all supported hosts is not yet established. No introduced authorization bypass was identified in the inspected paths. before using 999; retain that root limit on the adapter during initialization so
transaction drivers without a copied limit still trigger the in-memory fallback
correctly.

🎯 Changes
A
loadSubsetrequest with two 1,000-valueINlists could bind about 2,000 parameters in one SQLite statement. The former 900-value chunking split each list into clauses, but all clauses kept their parameters in that statement. SQLite rejected the request on a connection limited to 999 variables. This PR bounds each subset read by the SQLite driver's parameter limit and preserves the matching persisted rows. Runtime
INpredicates now bind each list as one JSON array:The compiler preserves typed comparisons, including signed 64-bit
bigintvalues beyond JavaScript's safe-integer range. An empty list still matches no rows. Index expressions and partial-index predicates still use SQL literals because SQLite does not permit these subqueries in index definitions. After the compiler combines the predicates and ordering, the adapter checks the complete SELECT parameter count. If it exceeds the driver's limit, the adapter reads the table without parameters. Its existing in-memory evaluator then applies the predicate, ordering, and pagination. This guard also covers many scalar predicates and both cursor SELECTs. The default limit is 999 when a driver does not declare one. The Cloudflare transaction driver now retains its root driver's 100-parameter limit.
The change removes 22 net production lines across the SQLite core and Cloudflare driver. It requires no data migration.
Verification and limits
bigint, both cursor SELECTs, and both index-definition contexts.INclauses through savepoint and native transaction modes.1993999/1:0failed before the change and passed after it. The Cloudflare 101-clause cases failed before the transaction driver retained the 100-parameter cap and passed after it.The oracle checks these bounded histories on Node SQLite and a controlled Cloudflare storage seam. It does not execute in Cloudflare Workers, browser, mobile, Tauri, or native device hosts. It also does not establish JSON-function availability in those hosts, 50,582-ID stress, full-table fallback cost, or value equivalence for null, nonfinite, container, and structured values. The coverage map records these remaining witnesses.
