The "Trust Score" is a fundamental piece in BeyondCorp/Zero Trust Networking. This will be much of our "secret sauce" how it is being calculated. To start out however, we need a way to create this with the information that we have.
The Trust Score is a number from 0-1, where 1 is the best possible score. The score is to be updated periodically.
Here are some variables that we could use as part of calculating the score:
Open "bad" ports (e.g. telnet)
No firewall enabled
Failed login attempts in the last hour
We then need to calculate and expose this value in the dashboard.
We have already been dabbling with this in #22, but we need to extend it further such that it will provide a near real-time reflection of the true security state.
We need to spend some time modelling this, but we need to build out the core functionality to report and generate this automatically.
