The requested license already exists in the LicenseDB and DejaCode. See https://scancode-licensedb.aboutcode.org/aml.html where it has the short name Apple MIT License and full name Apple Sample Code License 2006. The somewhat odd name "Apple MIT License" came from https://spdx.org/licenses/AML.html which appears to have come from https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Licensing/Apple_MIT_License

It is interesting that the license is recently in use in the huggingface repo with a copyright date of 2024.

It seems that the authors of this package should have picked apple-ascl on Huggingface instead of other. I guess that Huggingface is not scanning things automatically.

@DennisClark There is a small variation in the text "Apple Inc." vs " Apple Computer, Inc." in our current text. This warrants adding a rule IMHO hence why I am reopening.

Now, Apple calls it itself Apple-Sample-Code-License, see https://developer.apple.com/support/downloads/terms/apple-sample-code/Apple-Sample-Code-License.pdf ... SPDX is weird too.

I am not clear that this is about scanning versus the recommended (required?) set of licenses.
A good place to start with Huggingface is to persuade them to upgrade https://huggingface.co/docs/hub/repositories-licenses to a list of standardized licenses because this is the list that they tell projects this is "A full list of the available licenses is available here:"
Does that mean that a repo on Huggingface can only use one of these licenses?
After they upgrade their license list we could offer scanning services to help the projects upgrade their license ids/names.
