Before ➡️ After

Before: Routine PD discovery uses the cluster-summary endpoint, which can scan every partition.

After: Read members, leader, versions and cluster state from the existing lightweight members endpoint. Preserve discovery failures without falling back to the heavy scan. Missing aggregate fields stay unavailable, not zero; Store counts and capacity still come from the stores endpoint.

Why

Keep node discovery proportional to discovery needs instead of coupling page refreshes to graph-partition summaries.

Validation boundary

The source author reports local HTTP fixtures and mounted UI checks, including no heavy-endpoint request on success or failure. Live distributed-cluster behavior, measured production impact and complete current-head CI remain unverified. This branch includes the shared canvas foundation from 🔗 apache/hugegraph-toolchain#840, preserving its original history rather than duplicating the fix.

Source proposal: 🔗 hugegraph/hugegraph-toolchain#94.

Visual overview

Lightweight PD member discovery with separate Store statistics

PD discovery uses lightweight member metadata without falling back to partition summaries; Store statistics remain separate. Mechanism illustration, not production performance or CI acceptance.
