   @saturnism please see this PR #628 for more detail. It doesn't wait for 6 min, if there is no pending rpc. Normally there wouldn't be any pending rpc when application is shutting down.

   @andreamlin, @saturnism Looks like according to the relevant PR comments the 6 minutest is a best guess number. Unless there is a better number for this, I would propose closing this issue.
