[Bug]: After a cancelled compact, T3 Code sends "Continue where you left off" by itself #17184

Area

apps/desktop

Steps to reproduce

Work in a long thread until T3 Code starts an automatic compact.
Cancel the compact.
T3 Code posts "Continue where you left off" into the thread as a new message, before I can type anything.

Expected behavior

Nothing should be sent after a cancelled compact. The thread should wait for me to write my next message myself. I would also like a setting to turn off the automatic compact.

Actual behavior

The app starts a compact without being asked, and that interrupts a run that was working. After I cancel it, the app sends "Continue where you left off" by itself, so the agent continues on a message I never wrote.

Impact

Major degradation or frequent failure

On current main I can't find a path that sends "Continue where you left off." by itself after a cancelled compact. Cancelling the /compact leaves the run interrupted, so the composer shows a Resume button (deriveResumableRunId in packages/client-runtime/src/state/threadExecution.ts), and that button is what sends the text (useComposerResume.ts). The restart path skips /compact runs (isNativeMaintenanceCommand).

Two questions to pin it down:

    1. Did the message appear without you clicking anything, or after pressing Resume?
    2. Did T3 Code restart or reconnect around then?

If it was the button, the fix is probably to not offer Resume after a cancelled /compact.
