[Bug]:[Android] Missing composer toolbar and Thread Settings options (iOS parity regression) #21744

Closed

Description

Before submitting

  • I searched existing issues and did not find a duplicate.
  • I included enough detail to reproduce or investigate the problem.

Area

apps/mobile

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install T3 Code Mobile Android 2.0.0 build 186 (Nightly 3348) on Xiaomi 17.
  2. Connect to the remote MacBook Pro environment.
  3. Open a project and select New thread.
  4. Observe that the composer has no attachment, model selection, microphone or send controls.
  5. Open Thread settings.
  6. Observe that the screen ends after Claude, Grok and OpenCode, with no Options, model search or management controls.
  7. Compare with the iOS app connected to the same environment, where all these controls are present.

Expected behavior

Android should display the same essential controls as iOS: the composer toolbar (+, model selector, microphone where supported, Send) and Thread settings options (Reasoning, Fast Mode, Runtime, model search and management), plus the available provider groups.

Actual behavior

On Android, the entire composer toolbar is missing. Thread settings only displays Claude, Grok and OpenCode; additional provider groups, Reasoning, Fast Mode, Runtime, model search and management controls are absent. The keyboard is dismissed and the controls are not hidden behind the Android navigation bar. This is a native APK, not Chrome.

Thanks for the screenshots. The composer looks the same as #16080. The card keeps the full height of its toolbar row, but the row is empty.

On the new thread screen, that row is mounted already inside a flip animation that starts hidden at opacity 0 (apps/mobile/src/features/voice-input/ComposerDictationControl.tsx:46-58, :140-144; apps/mobile/src/features/threads/NewTaskDraftScreen.tsx:1671). In #16080 it never became visible when Android animations were turned off. Thread settings has the same kind of issue: rows that mount after the list loads use a fade-in animation (apps/mobile/src/features/threads/ThreadSettingsSheet.tsx:922-925, :1000). That fits everything after OpenCode going missing.

    Two questions:

    1. Is "Remove animations" on, or are the animation scales set to off? Please also say whether a HyperOS battery or performance mode is on.
    2. Where the send button should be, does tapping still do anything?

If animations are off, this would be a duplicate of #16080.

Confirmed: disabling system animations was the cause.

After re-enabling animations on my Xiaomi 17 and restarting T3 Code, everything works correctly. The composer toolbar, Send button, model selection, and missing Thread Settings options are all back.

I apologize for opening a duplicate issue. Before submitting it, I explicitly asked ChatGPT to search for existing reports of the same problem. Unfortunately, this remarkably incompetent AI failed to find #16080 and confidently told me there were no relevant duplicates.

Sorry for wasting your time, and thank you for identifying the cause so quickly. This issue can be closed as a duplicate of #16080.
