ApprovabilityVerdict: Approved at Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — This is a focused web UI bug fix that changes only the sizing and wrapping of expanded markdown tables in sufficiently wide chat lanes. Existing table controls, collapsed/mobile behavior, settings defaults, and application workflows remain unchanged. You can add or adjust custom eligibility rules. Learn more. |

Add focused tests for both formats using a rendered Markdown table and the existing clipboard stub. These tests will detect regressions in the container lookup and table serialization.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

@coderabbitai The copy actions are unchanged in this PR. It only touches table sizing and the expand toggle, so copy tests would be a separate change. Leaving this nitpick out of scope. |

Tip For best results, initiate chat on the files or code changes. @mkantautas Thanks for clarifying the scope. I withdraw the copy-test suggestion from this PR. Would you like a follow-up issue for copy-test coverage? ✏️ Learnings added

With Word wrap on, table cells wrapped but the table still laid out at its unwrapped width, so the last columns were cut off at the lane edge behind a scrollbar that only shows on hover. In a timeline row at least 36rem wide an expanded table now fits the lane and its columns narrow down to their longest word. Phone-width lanes and collapsed tables keep scrolling sideways. The expand toggle no longer pins header widths, which held columns at their collapsed widths and kept an expanded table from fitting.

Taking over this one as part of the composer-chat maintainer batch. I will verify the current timeline integration, fitted desktop tables, the collapse/expand round trip, and narrow-lane scrolling. |
Expanded chat tables kept their max-content width even after cells wrapped, so prose columns still disappeared beyond the lane. This removes the column-width pinning and lets expanded tables fit timeline lanes at least 36rem wide. Headings wrap with the cells; narrower lanes keep horizontal scrolling. Collapsing restores the original compact layout. Unbreakable content can still require horizontal scrolling.
