feat(web): double-click the right panel divider to split the space evenly - #26607
With the right panel open, the only way to move the divider between the chat and the panel is to drag it. Landing on an even split takes a few tries, and after dragging the panel very wide or very narrow there is no quick way back to a sensible layout.
Change
Double-clicking the divider gives the panel half of the row it shares with the chat column. That row is the same element the panel already measures for its maximum width. The result is clamped to the existing minimum and maximum and saved the same way a drag is saved, so it survives a reload.
useResizableWidth gains a setWidth that reuses the drag's commit and persist path.
usePreviewPanelInlineSize adds onDoubleClick to the handle's handlers. It resolves the row and calls setWidth with half its width.
RightPanelResizeHandle already spreads its handlers, so the markup does not change.
The handle only renders for the inline, non-maximized panel. Sheet mode, the sidebar, and the maximized panel are not affected. Mobile has no divider to drag and is unchanged.
Scope and approval
No issue or Ideas discussion asks for this exactly, so there is no approval to link. The closest threads are #16825 (remember or default the right panel width across threads) and #22037 (closed as its duplicate), where one commenter wants the panel opened at 50%. This PR does not solve those. It adds a second way to reach a width the user can already drag to, changes no defaults, and adds no setting. If it needs product-direction approval first, say so and I will open an Ideas discussion and close this.
Verification
New PreviewPanelShell.browser.test.tsx. It renders the inline panel in a 1200px row, dispatches dblclick on the separator, and asserts the panel is 600px wide and local storage holds 600.
vp run check:changed passes format, lint, and both knip passes. Its typecheck and unused-patches steps fail in my environment for reasons unrelated to this change. The sandbox could not run the pinned pnpm, so patches were not applied and one unrelated package has type errors. vp run typecheck in apps/web reports no errors in the changed files.
Not checked. My sandbox cannot bind local ports, so the browser test did not run here (listen EPERM), and there is no before/after recording. The test needs the CI workflow approved to run. I will add a recording if the direction is accepted.

Walkthrough
Double-clicking the inline preview panel’s separator sets its width to half the resolved row width, rounded to the nearest integer. The resize hook clamps and persists the new width. A browser test checks the updated width and stored value.
The inline panel sets its width to half the resolved row width when its separator is double-clicked. The browser test checks that a 1200-pixel row produces a 600-pixel panel and stores "600".

The synthetic dblclick skips the handle’s pointer-down and pointer-up handlers. Those handlers use pointer capture and cancel pointer events, so this test can pass without checking the full user interaction. Use a browser locator’s double-click action and keep the width and storage assertions. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Double-click through the browser. Agreed, and fixed in e1ae265. The test now imports the app stylesheet so the handle has a hit area, then calls userEvent.dblClick on the separator. That runs the pointer-down and pointer-up handlers with pointer capture before the double-click, which the synthetic event skipped. themePalette.browser.test.ts already imports ~/index.css the same way.
Classes instead of inline styles on the fixture. Skipped. The fixture's row and spacer are test scaffolding, not app markup, and the other browser tests in this folder size their fixtures with inline styles too (routeReveal, middle-truncate, QueuedRunsControl). Arbitrary-value classes like w-[1200px] would also depend on Tailwind scanning test files, which the inline values do not.
…enly
Dragging the right panel divider to an even split takes a few tries.
Double-clicking the divider now sets the panel to half of the row it
shares with the chat column, clamped to the existing width bounds, and
persists that width like a drag would.

The synthetic dblclick skipped the handle's pointer handlers. Loading the
app stylesheet gives the handle its hit area, so the test can drive a real
double-click through Playwright and cover the pointer capture path too.
