fix(web): cancelled queued-message edits release their staged uploads - #29570
When you edit a queued message in the web composer and attach an image or file, the composer starts uploading that attachment to the server straight away. If you then throw the edit away, the upload is never released. That happens when you press Cancel, when you start editing a different queued message, or when the run leaves the queue while your thread draft already has other content. The server keeps the pending upload until it expires, the client keeps its upload state, and the image's blob: preview URL is never revoked.
Change
Add discardQueuedEditDraft, which releases the edit draft's staged attachments with releaseDraftAttachments, revokes blob previews, and then clears the draft. This is the same sequence the sibling clearQuestionAttachmentDraft (question attachment drafts) and discardComposerDraft already use. recoverQueuedMessageEdit uses it when an edit is discarded, and so does the hook's clearEditDraft, which handles cancel and switching edits.
While a save is in flight, clearEditDraft keeps the old clear-only behavior, because that save is still sending those uploads (the Cancel button stays enabled during a save). Recovery cannot run mid-save, because the exit watch is paused for the whole save.
Scope and approval
Very small, focused fix for an obvious bug, so no prior issue: every other path that throws away a draft releases its uploads first, and only the queued-edit paths skipped that step. Web only. Mobile uploads attachments at send time, not when they are staged, so it does not have this leak.
Red on main: I extended queuedMessageEdit.test.ts › "does not overwrite a separate draft when the queued run leaves" with a ready upload for the staged file. On main it fails with AssertionError: expected { status: 'ready', …(2) } to be undefined.
Green: vp test run src/components/chat/queuedMessageEdit.test.ts src/components/chat/useQueuedRunEdit.browser.test.tsx passes (2 files, 12 tests). I reran it after rebasing on the latest main.
vp run check:changed passes: format, lint, knip, typecheck (2 packages), tests, and the React compiler check.
Takeover verification at af73cf9d0f: merged current main without conflicts. Blacksmith vp run check:changed github/main passed all steps, including 12 queued-edit tests. The exact previously failing PDF scroll/zoom browser test also passed. No source changes were needed.
Live Chrome client with the Replay (dev) provider: cancelling a queued edit released its staged file on the server; cancelling an image edit released its upload and revoked blob previews; saving retained the file on the queued message. The queued message remained intact after cancellation.

Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — Discarded queued-message edits now clean up staged uploads and blob previews. The change preserves recovered drafts and in-flight save uploads, while server cleanup is limited to pending attachments.

Walkthrough
Queued edit discard now releases staged image and file attachments, revokes blob image preview URLs, and clears composer content. When a save is in progress, draft clearing preserves uploads for that save.
Recovery and draft clearing release staged attachments when an edit is discarded. Draft clearing preserves uploads while a save is in progress. The test verifies that the upload record is removed after recovery discards an edit.
pingdotgg/t3code#15611 — This change releases staged attachments on discard, but does not prevent the original queued text from dispatching.
pingdotgg/t3code#26609 — This change releases staged attachments on discard, but does not address the compact-then-send busy state or save failure.

Exercise the image cleanup branch in the recovery test.
The changed test discards only a file, so it does not detect a regression in image upload release or URL.revokeObjectURL. Add the existing image fixture to the discarded draft, seed its upload state, and assert both the queue removal and blob URL revocation.

Update the recovery test to include the existing image fixture in the discarded
draft and seed its upload state, then assert that recovery removes the image’s
queued upload and revokes its preview URL. Spy on URL.revokeObjectURL within the
test, preserving the existing file cleanup assertions.

Overlap search: the local PR index and GitHub (
queued edit attachment upload release) turned up nothing about this. The closest open PRs are https://git.cafe/pingdotgg/t3code/pulls/28086 and https://git.cafe/pingdotgg/t3code/pulls/18631, which hold queued runs while they are being edited. I checked their diffs: neither touches how edit drafts are released.Verification
