Provide DMG with universal/apple silicon support #2517
EVE has a native version for apple silicon now, so it would be nice if pyfa worked natively too. Right now trying to run pyfa on a m1 mac brings up the rosetta prompt.
Apple confirmed that the next macOS, version 27, releasing this fall, will be the last one to support the launch of x86 (Intel-based) apps. After that, Rosetta will be sunset, and there will be no way to run such apps directly.
So in a couple of years Pyfa will become unusable on any modern Mac unless the proper Apple Silicon builds are published
By that point I plan to have next version of pyfa / whatever-it-will-be-called ready, built on different tech stack (see https://github.com/DarkFenX/refine for calculation core). For that one, I will look into supporting silicon platform. For current pyfa, only if someone else with necessary experience & access to silicon hardware helps me with that.
I didn't know that you were working on a new version, looks very promising! In that case I agree that it is more reasonable to implement support in the new version instead of dragging the old one
I have some Apple Silicon hardware and experience with Rust in web backends and computer graphics if you need any help
The rust version is still in the cooking (I've almost finished calculation engine, another dude is working on UI, everything in-between is still yet to be coded). Will take a while to finish it, but 2 years will surely be enough.

I have no idea how to do it, I have no time and no hardware to do it. If someone wishes to do it, I am accepting pull requests.
