[Feature Request] Prefix cluster ID with "dev-server-" (or similar) and allow env var override #609

Closed

Description

@cretz

Describe the solution you'd like

Prefix the cluster ID (persisted or not) with something like "dev-server-" or make the VIS "product" the temporal-dev-server. Also allow the cluster ID (persistent or not) to be overridable via env var.

    I'd like to work on this.

    My plan:

    1. Prefix generated cluster IDs with dev-server-
    2. Add TEMPORAL_DEV_SERVER_CLUSTER_ID env var override

    Does this approach look correct? Any preference on the env var name?"
