Description
Drift (program tending, 2026-11-02 run; tracking issue #1352)
Both "Now, across the repo" rows in ROADMAP.md name work that has landed, and the same finished work is still carried as Now/planned in dezren39/nix's ROADMAP.md. Flagged as ambiguous drift on #1352 on 2026-11-01 (meta/roadmap-drift + comment); 24h later no PR covers the top-level files, so this issue is the actionable tracker for the fix (one cross-repo set: code is the origin repo, nix is downstream).
Evidence (REST-verified 2026-11-02, separate calls)
- mcpx: decide how downstream flakes consume mcpx (sub-flake or the root flake) #308 — CLOSED completed 2026-11-01T01:15:47Z
- mcpx: re-home the open mcpx backlog from dezren39/nix, with this repo as the single source #309 — CLOSED completed 2026-11-01T01:16:26Z
- Stale open PRs: 16 Renovate updates (12 security) and platform-ssh-world #211 with merge conflicts #311 — CLOSED completed 2026-11-01T01:16:02Z
- fix(mcpx): honour MCPX_STATE_DIR in daemon discovery and mirroring #306 — CLOSED 2026-10-18T19:42:49Z (linked from a nix Now row)
- mcpx: takeover/upgrade/handoff unsupported on darwin; Linux-only tests break the darwin build #237 — still OPEN (also linked from that nix row)

Related but NOT this issue: open PR #3345 already drops the shipped single-source row in planning/roadmaps/mcpx.md — coordinate with it, don't duplicate it. Open PR #2771 covers planning/roadmaps/id.md only.
Recommendation (a priority call — Drew or the implementing lane confirms)
- code: promote from Next the two lines the fleet is actually working — "
mcpxrobustness" first, then "idPhase 11 changeability tasks" — so Now is not left empty. Alternative: leave Now empty until the next priorities pass; that undersells live work. - nix: delete the three finished rows (no Done rows — standing rule 2026-10-26); re-home mcpx: takeover/upgrade/handoff unsupported on darwin; Linux-only tests break the darwin build #237 as its own row only if it is still planned work.
- No Done rows anywhere; ROADMAP files stay forward-looking only.
Acceptance
- PR for code
ROADMAP.md: Now rows reference only open work - PR for dezren39/nix
ROADMAP.md: mcpx table references only open work; mcpx: takeover/upgrade/handoff unsupported on darwin; Linux-only tests break the darwin build #237 disposition explicit -
meta/roadmap-driftcan then come off Program tending: scheduled care for roadmaps, epics, projects, and stalled PRs #1352
Acceptance criteria
- ROADMAP.md's Now rows no longer list issues mcpx: decide how downstream flakes consume mcpx (sub-flake or the root flake) #308/mcpx: re-home the open mcpx backlog from dezren39/nix, with this repo as the single source #309/Stale open PRs: 16 Renovate updates (12 security) and platform-ssh-world #211 with merge conflicts #311 (closed 2026-11) as current work.
- Replacement Now rows reflect the currently active work named in this issue, each row pointing at a live issue.
- No other ROADMAP.md sections change.

Intake review
Related: issues #308, #309, #311 (closed) are the finished rows to replace; label
meta/roadmap-driftwas already on the issue.Notes: pure docs hygiene — the roadmap is a fleet-visible surface and stale Now rows misdirect both humans and agents scanning for current work.
Risks: minimal; the only judgment call is which live work belongs in Now — the issue body names the intended rows.
Suggested approach: single small docs PR editing only the Now section.

state: triaged (coverage pass)
Coverage pass 2026-11-03: reviewed in the fleet-wide per-issue pass (drift / overlap / already-handled / stale / blockers / ordering). Verdict: still live; queued in repo-health-code-pilot as triage at priority 40 (priority/normal). If this is already handled at current main, the triage closes it with evidence; if it needs splitting, the triage files the split.

Program-tending update (#1352): both roadmap PRs for this issue have now merged — #5559 (merged 2026-11-05T01:53Z) and dezren39/darwin-nix#1483 (merged 2026-11-05T01:57Z), each verified by a direct read this run.
The top-level acceptance is met: code
ROADMAP.md's Now rows now name live work (mcpx robustness #1384/#1414, id Phase 11 changeability), the finished mcpx rows are gone from the nix roadmap, and the still-open code#237 is re-homed as its own row.Remainder, flagged here on 2026-11-04 and still open:
planning/roadmaps/nixos-and-infra.mdstill marks the #308 row in-progress, andplanning/roadmaps/repo-and-ci.mdstill lists the #311 stale-PR row as proposed.Proposal: close this issue on its top-level acceptance, with the two planning/roadmaps rows carried as the remaining drift (
meta/roadmap-driftstays on #1352 until they are disposed) — or keep this issue open as their tracker. Either way the remainder is named here so it is not lost.dezren39 commentedon Nov 8, 2026

Partial verification — staying open (2026-11-07 done-task-only audit, tracking: #7016).
Queue task(s) [8415] were marked done, and some work did land:
No merged change closes this issue's full scope, so the done status is not treated as completion. Remainder re-queued as triage task 11697.
