Docs migration batch — Atlas documentation sweep. Part of the hatch → code docs migration tracking issue. Full plan: ~/workspace/scratch/docs-migration-plan-2026-11-04/plan.md (§9, Atlas reality check).
Finding that shapes this batch
Inventory (2026-11-04) found zero Atlas documents in the tracked files of hatch-personal, hatch, or darwin-nix. (darwin-nix "atlas" hits are all Atlassian false positives.) Drew's premise — Atlas docs landed in hatch and should move to code — holds for the sandbox workspace, not the git repos: Atlas design and research material lives in untracked locations:
~/workspace/research_notes/ (quota/Atlas research notes)
code's own doc/ already holds some (dated design dirs; pkgs/atlas-search exists)
Work
Enumerate Atlas documents in the untracked locations above (title, location, date, one-line subject).
Copy the design/reference documents into code doc/ (an atlas/ subarea or the existing dated-design convention — PR decides), via the normal PR flow. Copy, never delete — sources stay.
Leave pointer notes where a swept doc was previously cited from (goal workspaces), so references don't break silently.
Report the enumeration back on this issue; anything sensitive or clearly ephemeral stays out, listed by name with the reason.
Out of scope
The longer-term integration of all docs/notes/logs into Atlas + the Zettelkasten graph / ID system (with classifications) — that's the future direction recorded in the tracking issue, not this batch.
The Atlas ingestion program (tracker #6018, filed 2026-11-04) consumes this issue's enumeration twice:
The first-pass corpus task (#6025) ingests "all the docs we can find" — explicitly including the untracked material this sweep enumerates (research notes, goal workspaces, memory topics). This issue's inventory is that task's doc-source list.
The agent-notes placement design (#6022) must agree with the docs-migration classification standard (#5983): sandbox-environment material stays in hatch-personal; everything else canonicalizes to code / zettel / ID graph — and each home needs an Atlas ingestion path with provenance marks.
No action needed here beyond the link; sequencing (sweep first, then ingest) is recorded on #6025.
Checked current code main at 28719695372b. It has four Atlas-specific docs under doc/ (binary service, scaler revision, manifest filter surface, and PITR-vs-retention decision) plus pkgs/atlas-search; these do not establish that the untracked sources named by this issue have been swept.
The exact plan path named in the issue (~/workspace/scratch/docs-migration-plan-2026-11-04/plan.md) is absent on this laptop; ~/workspace/research_notes/ is absent too. The available ~/workspace/goals/ tree has no Atlas source files. This is an execution access blocker, not evidence that those sources do not exist elsewhere.
Scoped path and ordering: once the source workspace is mounted/exported to this laptop, enumerate the source docs (title, location, date, subject); copy only durable design/reference material into doc/ without deleting sources; add canonical pointers at goal-workspace citations; and list sensitive/ephemeral exclusions by name and reason. Keep memory topics reference-only for this copy sweep, consistent with this issue. Use the classification standard in #5983 where it applies. The resulting enumeration is an input to the docs portion of #6025; #6025 can proceed with its code/cairn portion independently.
Resume condition: provide the referenced migration plan and Atlas source trees (at minimum research_notes and relevant goal files) to the laptop workspace, then perform the enumeration and copy/PR. Until then, do not invent an inventory or copy unseen content. No Drew-only design decision is currently required.
