Fixes #280. Mirrors dezren39/nix PR #396 (fix for dezren39/darwin-nix#191), whose pre-fix registry.go was verified byte-identical to this repo's copy.

warnDegraded logged "degraded to per-call" for every degraded scope, but Scope.Key only falls back to call:<id> for some scopes: repo/worktree degrade to cwd:<dir> (shared by every caller in the directory) and parent-session can degrade to session:<id>. The line told an operator deciding whether callers share an instance the opposite of the truth.

  • keyFor now passes the resolved key into warnDegraded; the line names it (degraded to cwd:/work/...)
  • The once-only dedup key includes the resolved key, so the same reason in a different directory warns again
  • New registry_degraded_test.go ported from nix (issue ref re-pointed to mcpx: degraded-scope log line says 'per-call' when the key is the directory #280): naming matrix for cwd/session/per-call fallbacks + per-key dedup

Verified:

  • go test ./internal/daemon/ ./internal/config/ green; go build ./... clean; gofmt/vet clean
  • Ablation: new tests fail on pre-fix registry.go (signature/logic), pass with the fix
  • Post-fix registry.go is byte-identical to dezren39/nix's post-fix version

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • Degraded-scope warnings now report the resolved key used for each server, rather than incorrectly labeling shared keys as per-call isolation.
    • Warnings are deduplicated for the same server, scope, resolved key, and degradation reason, while different resolved keys receive separate warnings.

Mirrors dezren39/nix PR #396. warnDegraded logged 'degraded to per-call'
for every degraded scope, but repo/worktree degrade to cwd:<dir> and
parent-session can degrade to session:<id>. Pass the resolved key from
keyFor into warnDegraded, print it, and include it in the once-only
dedup key. Adds registry_degraded_test.go ported from nix (ref #280).

📝 Walkthrough

The registry now logs the resolved key for degraded scopes and deduplicates warnings by that key. Regression tests cover warning text and deduplication across keys.

Changes: Degraded-scope warning

keyFor passes the resolved key to warnDegraded. The warning reports that key and includes it in deduplication. Tests check warning text and confirm that the same key is deduplicated while a different key produces another warning.

Explanation

The changes satisfy #280. keyFor passes the resolved key to warnDegraded. The warning logs cwd:, session:, or call: keys instead of a fixed per-call destination. The deduplication key includes the resolved key. The new tests cover worktree, repo, parent-session, session, and per-key deduplication cases.

Explanation

The pull request changes only degraded-scope warning behavior in registry.go and adds focused regression tests in registry_degraded_test.go. Both changes directly support #280. No unrelated changes are shown.

Test the keyFor integration path.

The new tests call warnDegraded with hardcoded keys. They do not verify that keyFor forwards the key returned by Scope.Key. A wrong key at that boundary would pass all these tests while producing an incorrect warning. Add regression cases that invoke keyFor with missing worktree and parent-session context.

Bound warning state for per-call fallbacks.

If a session-scoped call has no session ID, each distinct call ID produces a distinct call:<id> key. LoadOrStore then retains an entry and emits a warning for every call. On a long-running daemon, repeated calls can grow the map and warning log without limit. Keep per-key warnings for shared keys, but coalesce or bound warning state for per-call keys.
