Summary

- missing final path makes nightly filter fail under pipefail
+ missing paths are skipped without failing the filter

Fixes #3117.

Evidence

• Before: deleted last path causes the filter to exit 1.
• After: python3 -I scripts/tests/test_auto_format_workflow.py passes against the actual workflow block and real git history.
