fix(desktop): annotate elements inside same-origin iframes - #30192
Select and Region cannot annotate components inside a same-origin iframe, including Storybook's story canvas. Input stays inside the frame, while the picker only listens and searches in the top document.
Listen for annotation input in accessible frame documents, and translate element and pointer coordinates into the top viewport. The existing top-level editor, frame scrolling, element styling/erase, and screenshot bounds work with those targets. Frame loads/removals refresh and clean up listeners; element metadata identifies the frame's URL. Cross-origin and sandbox restrictions remain in place.
Run the focused preload regression in the existing web Chromium CI lane, including when a later change touches only desktop preview code.
Scope and approval
This uses the focused obvious-bug exception in CONTRIBUTING.md: it restores existing annotation tools over accessible iframe content without adding a workflow, setting, wire contract, or permission. All changes address that input/coordinate defect or keep its regression test running. The production change is confined to the desktop guest preload; provider adapters and web/mobile browser hosts need no changes.
Verification
Reproduced the failure in Chromium before the fix: clicking a button inside the frame leaves no selected outline or editor. The new regression failed on the original picker and passes after the fix.
vp test run scripts/check-changed.test.ts apps/desktop/src/preview/PickPreload.browser.test.ts: 19 tests pass, covering Select, Region, frame reload, exact top-viewport capture/crop coordinates, listener teardown, and CI routing.
vp run check:changed: format, lint, both knip checks, typechecks, and focused tests pass.
Browser panel: bundled the actual preload against a small Storybook-style same-origin fixture with an Electron IPC shim. Native click and Region drag select the story button and open the editor. Enter emits its frame URL and translated capture rectangle; Region leaves no native text selection.
The fixture isolates the changed guest code; packaged macOS Electron and a full Storybook installation were not tested.
Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — Desktop annotations now support elements inside accessible same-origin iframes, including frame-aware positioning and metadata. The change remains confined to explicitly activated annotation sessions and preserves browser origin restrictions and existing submission controls.

Walkthrough
PickPreload now discovers reachable same-origin iframe documents and supports annotation picking and gestures within them. It translates element bounds and pointer coordinates across frames. Browser tests cover iframe selection modes, and the web browser-test project includes desktop browser tests.
PickPreload discovers reachable same-origin iframe documents, installs listeners and observers, refreshes tracking when frames change, and disposes tracking during teardown.

Element picking, visible bounds, capture metadata, and style checks use the picked element’s document and frame-aware geometry.
Erasing, marquee selection, pointer gestures, and submitted element rectangles use translated or clipped coordinates across reachable documents.

Merged current main (no rebase). One conflict in apps/desktop/src/preview/PickPreload.ts with #30624 (annotation dictation):
The per-frame listeners in refreshDocuments now keep main's passive options and also register the voice keyup handler, so a dictation chord pressed inside a frame releases there too.
Main's focus listener stays on the top window only, matching main.
vp run check:changed and PickPreload.browser.test.ts pass on 536f777.
Also fixed a CodeRabbit finding: removing a frame that held the only selected element left the editor open. refreshDocuments now calls updateStatus() when it drops a selection, and the existing iframe it.each gained a remove row that fails without the fix.
