Fixes#6501. Queue task 10998 (lane code-q; triage task 10991 confirmed the collapse on issue #6501).
Problem
run_session_with's first-frame parse and handle_client_frame's joined-frame parse in pkgs/id/src/world_session/mod.rs went through serde_json::from_str::<Value>, which keeps only the last value for a repeated object key. A frame with duplicate type/world/capability/admin_token (or a duplicate field inside a nested object such as signed) was routed and checked against the collapsed map, while the sibling query/install paths in the same module parse ClientFrame directly and refuse the same bytes.
Fix
Both entry points now parse through parse_json_without_duplicate_keys, a strict serde_json deserializer wrapper that refuses any repeated object key at every depth before routing, the delegation uses guard, or ClientFrame conversion run. Non-duplicate frames parse to exactly the same Value as before; world extraction and guard semantics are unchanged.
Note: the implementation and tests were resumed from the uncommitted work a previous attempt of task 10998 left in this worktree (verified fresh, not restarted).
Tests
New raw-string regression tests in both phases (first_frame_rejects_duplicate_json_keys_at_every_depth, joined_frame_rejects_duplicate_json_keys_at_every_depth): duplicate type (identical and conflicting), duplicate world in both orders, duplicate capability, duplicate admin_token, and a duplicate field inside a nested signed object — all refused with the existing invalid-frame errors.
New proptest duplicate_json_keys_are_rejected_at_any_nesting_depth (oracle: the strict parser must error on any text containing a repeated key at the generated depth).
Laptop (pkgs/id): cargo test -p id --lib world_session — 61 passed, 0 failed; cargo test -p id --lib json_keys — 3 passed; cargo fmt --check clean on both files.

Bug Fixes
First-frame and joined-session messages containing duplicate JSON fields are now rejected, including duplicates inside nested objects and arrays.
Invalid messages continue to receive the existing validation errors, and sessions close as before when first-frame validation fails.

Walkthrough
The first-frame and joined-frame parsers now use a recursive JSON parser that rejects duplicate keys in nested objects. Tests cover duplicate frame fields, nested signed data, and generated nesting depths.
Changes: World-session frame parsing
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Strict parsing at frame entry points pkgs/id/src/world_session/mod.rs
A recursive JSON parser rejects duplicate object keys, non-finite numbers, and trailing input. The first-frame and joined-frame parsers use it. Parse failures retain their existing error responses.
Tests cover duplicate fields in first and joined frames, a duplicate field inside signed, and generated duplicate keys at nesting depths from 0 through 7.
developing-today/code#842: Adds a conformance checker for world-session frames; its JSON-value input does not preserve duplicate keys.
Suggested labels:app/id
Merge Risk: Low · previous review 662d8
Duplicate-key rejection covers initial and joined frames, but a join following a query can still bypass it. The remaining risk is bounded; apply the same validation to that transition to complete the protection.

Explanation
[#6501] Both session entry points reject duplicate keys recursively before routing or the uses guard. Raw-frame tests cover the specified duplicate fields in both phases. A property test covers nested objects. The change preserves the routing and guard code and does not modify query or install parsing. The author reports that the world-session tests pass.

agent-note:v1 — Codex gate disposition for PR #6508 (task 10998, lane code-q): the Codex code review did not produce findings — its run at 2026-11-06T11:43Z FAILED with "You have reached your Codex usage limits for code reviews" before reviewing commit 662d8b7. There are no Codex findings to fix or rebut on this PR; the gate is dispositioned as review-unavailable (quota), not findings-ignored. Verification instead: targeted tests on the laptop (cargo test -p id --lib world_session 61 passed including the 3 new duplicate-key tests; fmt clean).

Prefix the three new test names with test_.
The two frame tests and the property test omit the required prefix.
As per coding guidelines, “tests test_ prefix.”

Prefix the three new test function names with test_, including
first_frame_rejects_duplicate_json_keys_at_every_depth and the other two
frame/property tests; leave their test bodies unchanged.
Add array nesting to the duplicate-key property test.
The property test wraps duplicate keys only in objects. If array traversal stops using UniqueValue, these tests can still pass while the parser accepts duplicate keys inside arrays.

Extend the duplicate-key property test around parse_json_without_duplicate_keys
to wrap the generated nested duplicate-key object in an array and assert parsing
still returns an error. Preserve the existing object-only assertion and
depth-based nesting coverage.
