Codex can report an exhausted ChatGPT Subscription Sharing allowance as a stream disconnect. T3 marks the thread Failed and omits usage-limit recovery. This recognizes the reported prose and personal/Business Sharing codes, marks the thread Limited, and shows one recovery card above the composer.
Sharing limits keep their own reset state. An ordinary Codex usage snapshot cannot invent a Sharing reset, so an unknown reset still requires a manual retry. Manage usage stays as a quiet secondary action because it opens allowance and credit settings. Business limits offer Copy request for admin. The duplicate floating banner and redundant settings description are removed. The scheduler and wire contract are unchanged.
Unverified: live ChatGPT Subscription Sharing exhaustion and retry after its real reset on head 2d4ad359e548b9f9c1406aa40f4c9464547f8a9c. We have no Sharing account available. The new recordings use the reported error as an upstream HTTP fixture; they do not establish the live service's HTTP status, response shape or reset behavior.
Current-head runtime verification ran on physical corex in the packaged Linux Electron app 0.1.6, with its bundled T3 server and web client, native Codex CLI 0.166.0 and isolated app/provider homes. The 14-second personal recording shows provider Settings, the same prompt as the earlier main recording, Limited status, one composer recovery card and typing an editable retry draft. The 15-second Business recording shows prompt submission through Request copied. Both are direct 1440 by 900 screen recordings of the extracted AppImage, without a reload. The request goes through the bundled T3 server, installed Codex app-server, HTTP /v1/responses, native Codex error handling and T3's adapter. Only the HTTP endpoint is substituted. No database state, Codex protocol events or UI state were injected.
The personal fixture returns HTTP 400 with subscription_sharing_usage_limit_exceeded and the exact reported text:
stream disconnected before completion: The ChatGPT user has reached their Subscription Sharing usage limit. Ask the user to try again after their usage limit resets or use an API key instead.
The raw-string case in CodexManagedErrors.test.ts supplies that text without a Sharing code. CodexAdapterV2.test.ts also supplies it through retry notifications and terminal errors, and verifies that ordinary usage snapshots arriving before or after the failure cannot supply its reset time. Nearby cases retain ordinary quota recovery and reject incidental mentions of Sharing codes.

Native Codex emitted turn/completed, status failed, with codexErrorInfo: "other" for both HTTP fixtures. Its error message contained the fixture JSON and respective Sharing code. The client captures show T3 converting those generic native failures into usage-limit recovery.

Mobile's unchanged UsageLimitRecoveryCard.tsx and ChatGptUsageLimitNotice.tsx consume the same server failure, code and reset fields.
The earlier ordinary Resume at reset / Cancel auto-resume interaction remains applicable because UsageLimitRecoveryBanner.tsx has the same blob, aabe7734a3329e7d7e119d8d826b8a30228862ca, on e512ca0 and this head. Walkthrough
Codex managed-error classification now recognizes configured usage-limit codes and matching prose. The adapter preserves managed failure details and calculates reset times per failure. The web recovery banner uses the error code to select ChatGPT- or workspace-specific content and actions.
Classification parses structured errors and JSON strings, recognizes configured codes and exact usage-limit prose, and returns a usageLimit flag. Tests cover recognized and unrecognized inputs.
Adapter failure handling and validation apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/Adapters/CodexAdapterV2.ts, apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/Adapters/CodexAdapterV2.test.ts
The adapter applies managed messages and codes to failures, marks managed usage limits, and calculates reset times per failure. Replay tests cover workspace and sharing limits, retry notifications, and reset snapshots.
ChatView passes the last error code to the recovery banner. The banner distinguishes ChatGPT and workspace limits and displays their corresponding recovery content. ThreadErrorBanner changes its usage-limit text.

Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
Directly linked issue #25333 has one primary objective: recognize the Subscription Sharing usage-limit stream error as a usage limit and provide recovery instead of a generic disconnect.
Evidence at reviewed head:
CodexManagedErrors.ts: classifyCodexManagedError now detects the exact prose "has reached their Subscription Sharing usage limit" when no structured code exists. It maps it to subscription_sharing_usage_limit_exceeded and sets usageLimit: true. The reporter's string ("stream disconnected before completion: ...") contains that phrase, so it matches.
CodexManagedErrors.ts: structured codes subscription_sharing_usage_limit_exceeded and subscription_sharing_workplace_individual_usage_limit_exceeded are in usageLimitCodes.
CodexAdapterV2.ts: withCodexManagedFailure replaces the message and code and sets class to usage_limit for usage-limit codes. The thread then reaches the Limited state, not Failed.
UsageLimitRecoveryBanner.tsx: ChatGPT limit errors show a ChatGPT-specific banner with a Manage usage action. Workspace limits show a Copy request for admin action.
Reset time and resume (partial): The issue asks for a reset time and a resume-once-reset option. The Sharing error carries no reset timestamp. The reviewed code sets resetAt to null for Sharing caps (failureResetAt). The banner therefore shows "Reset time unavailable; retry manually" and no scheduled resume. This follows from the data available in the error. It is not a missed coding step, but it does not match the issue's expected behavior exactly.
Limits of this review: I did not run the test suite. The PR reports 175 passing tests and a changed-file check, and the new tests cover the reporter string, retry, and terminal Sharing cases. Live Sharing-cap behavior at the final head is unverified, as the PR states. Nathan's live recordings cover an earlier head, and the current code path matches those recordings.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
All changed files relate to usage-limit handling for the issue's Sharing failure path:
CodexManagedErrors.ts and its test: classify Sharing codes and prose, and set usageLimit.
CodexAdapterV2.ts and its test: apply the usage-limit class and failure reset time for Sharing failures.
ChatView.tsx: passes lastErrorCode to the usage-limit banner, which needs it to pick the ChatGPT or workspace presentation.
ThreadErrorBanner.tsx: exports copyAdminRequest so the recovery banner can reuse the existing admin-request copy action.
UsageLimitRecoveryBanner.tsx and its test: render the ChatGPT and workspace recovery variants.
The UI changes (ChatGPT icon and title, removed duplicate usage description, Manage usage as a secondary action) affect the same recovery surface. They support the issue's recovery goal. They are not unrelated work.
The classifier now parses only structured fields (code, error, message, additionalDetails) instead of searching serialized input text. This narrows detection of other managed codes. It is a change in the same classifier, and CodexManagedErrors.test.ts covers it. The narrowing is part of the Sharing recognition work, not a demonstrated unrelated change.
No unrelated files or features appear in the reviewed whole-PR file set. The PR description names head 1e7bd40, but the reviewed head is 7b6d41d. I assessed the reviewed head diffs against the merge base.

Explanation
The description is comprehensive and covers the problem, implementation, scope, verification results, screenshots, recordings, test limitations, linked issue, and agent details. It does not use the exact template headings, and explicit maintainer approval evidence is not clearly stated, but the required information is otherwise substantially complete.

Before (stable 0.1.2): sending a prompt showed the raw stream error.

After (this branch, dev build): it retried the provider 5 times (about 20s), then showed a "ChatGPT usage limit reached" card with a Manage usage button, plus a "Usage limit reached. Reset time unavailable, retry manually" banner. Works as expected for me.

the real web client was exercised through a synthetic codex subprocess for classification, manual retry, manage-usage popup, and the exact admin-request clipboard text. uploaded video playback and seeking passed. actual sharing-cap reset, native desktop/mobile, and remote/relay clients remain unverified. the pr body now reflects those limits and includes this evidence.

main and the pr completed the same prompt, returning MAIN_CODEX_OK through the local responses proxy. these matching-prompt screenshots prove normal provider availability, not reproduction of the sharing-limit bug.

blacksmith ran the existing CodexManagedErrors.test.ts and CodexAdapterV2.test.ts: 2 files and 96 tests passed. the pr has 32 successful ci checks, 0 failing, 0 pending. these checks do not establish live sharing-cap recovery.
inspected the captures. the trimmed real-turn video plays to completion and seeks in t3's browser player.
main, normal codex turn:
pr, same prompt:

the changed sharing-limit behavior could not be exercised. this vm uses a custom responses proxy without a chatgpt account. the original bug did not reproduce on main. the real codex app-server reports:
the app's usage panel independently shows the same unavailable usage state:
therefore personal and business sharing-cap exhaustion, manage-usage/admin actions for those errors, unknown-reset handling with early/late allowance snapshots, manual retry after a real cap reset, and ordinary exhausted-window recovery remain unverified through a real provider. proving them needs a genuinely sharing-limited chatgpt account. generating the error artificially would not satisfy this brief.
native desktop, ios/android, macos/windows, remote/relay, and tunnel behavior were not exercised on this linux vm. the verification status is unverifiable for the changed behavior, with the normal-turn/tool/persistence checks above passing.
media limitation: the screenshots render on github. github treats the external mp4 image syntax as an image and does not render an inline video; the uploaded mp4 itself passed full playback and seeking in t3's browser player.
Codex can report a ChatGPT sharing limit as prose only ("The ChatGPT user has
reached their Subscription Sharing usage limit"), which the managed error
classifier did not recognize. Even with a sharing code, the adapter replaced
the message and code but kept provider_error, so the Limited state, reset time
and resume-at-reset never applied.
The classifier now maps that exact prose to the personal sharing limit code and
flags the personal and Business sharing limits as usage limits. The Codex
adapter gives those the usage_limit class; other sharing failures keep theirs.
Reset times still come only from exhausted Codex windows.

ChatView hides the thread error banner for usage-limit failures in favor of the
recovery banner. Now that ChatGPT sharing limits are usage limits, that would
drop the ChatGPT banner and its "Manage usage" and "Copy request for admin"
actions. Keep it for those two codes; mobile already shows both.

The sharing limit showed a floating ChatGPT banner on top of the usage-limit
timeline line and recovery card. The recovery card now carries the ChatGPT
title, icon and Manage usage or admin-request action, and the floating banner
is suppressed like other usage limits.

Since pingdotgg#25341 classifies ChatGPT Subscription Sharing limits as usage limits,
mobile rendered both the generic usage-limit card and the ChatGPT notice for
the same failure. The generic card now leaves those codes to the ChatGPT
notice, matching web's single banner.

## What
`classifyTurnFailure` treats a Codex stream disconnect whose text says a
ChatGPT Subscription Sharing allowance ran out as `usage_limit`, with
`resetsAt: null`.
## Why
Codex reports this limit as `responseStreamDisconnected`, so the turn
ended as a generic provider error and the user was told nothing about
the limit. The plan's rate limits describe a different allowance, so
they do not give a reset time here.
Approach from pingdotgg/t3code#25341 (MIT). The text comes from that
report; its response shape has not been confirmed against a live
account.
## Tests
`errors.test.ts`: the reported text is a usage limit with no known
reset, and any other stream disconnect stays a provider error.
