refactor(mobile): a pane's bar draws its own sidebar toggle - #27086
Four places drew the sidebar toggle: the iOS AppBar, the native header item, the Android header button and the iOS empty detail column. Each had its own label and visibility rule, and screens opted out one at a time with sidebar={false}.
The workspace shell now tells each screen which column it renders in through PaneContext (sidebar, content or inspector). A single useSidebarToggle shows the button in the content pane when columns are showing and the sidebar can move. It stays hidden beside a list that keeps the sidebar, and on a workspace page that covers it. AppBar loses its sidebar prop. Screens that set their own left header items keep them, and so does the scheduled-task editor's guarded Back, which now goes through AppBar options. Pages presented over the columns (modals, fullscreen) render with no pane, so they show no toggle.
Visible change: content pages that used to opt out now show the toggle, such as iPad Settings pages and Android's archived threads, files and new task.
Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — Sidebar buttons now come from pane-aware mobile headers rather than per-screen flags. The impact is limited to navigation presentation; the reported Android search-focus issue remains subject to the separate correctness gate.

The mobile app now provides sidebar-toggle data through a shared hook that uses pane roles and adaptive workspace state. App bars and workspace headers use this data. AppBar callers no longer pass the sidebar prop. The scheduled-tasks editor passes iOS navigation options through SettingsScreen.
Changes: Sidebar toggle integration

Summary
Pane roles and toggle availability apps/mobile/src/components/ui/Pane.tsx, apps/mobile/src/features/layout/adaptive-workspace-context.ts, apps/mobile/src/features/layout/AdaptiveWorkspaceLayout.tsx, apps/mobile/src/features/layout/createWorkspaceStackNavigator.ios.tsx, apps/mobile/src/features/settings/SettingsWorkspaceLayout.android.tsx
Pane context identifies sidebar, content, and inspector regions. Adaptive workspace state exposes whether the sidebar can be toggled. Workspace layouts assign pane roles to their content.
App bar and workspace header integration apps/mobile/src/features/layout/useSidebarToggle.ts, apps/mobile/src/components/ui/AppBar.tsx, apps/mobile/src/components/ui/AppBar.android.tsx, apps/mobile/src/components/ui/AppBar.android.test.tsx, apps/mobile/src/components/ui/AppBar.types.ts, apps/mobile/src/features/layout/useWorkspaceSidebarHeaderItem.ts, apps/mobile/src/features/layout/workspace-sidebar-toolbar.tsx, apps/mobile/src/features/pull-requests/PullRequestRouteScreen.tsx, apps/mobile/src/features/threads/useThreadHeaderOptions*
App bars and workspace headers use shared sidebar-toggle data. Android app bars render an icon button when toggle data is available and the bar is not a sheet. The sidebar prop and previous Android sidebar button are removed.
AppBar callers no longer pass sidebar. SettingsScreen forwards options to AppBar. The scheduled-tasks editor supplies its iOS navigation options through that prop.

Explanation
The title "refactor(mobile): a pane's bar draws its own sidebar toggle" matches the main change. The PR moves sidebar-toggle rendering into a shared useSidebarToggle hook that the content pane uses. It also removes the sidebar prop from AppBar and the AndroidWorkspaceSidebarButton. The title is specific and follows a conventional commit format. It is slightly abstract in wording, but it still describes the primary change.
Full details: Description check
Explanation
The description explains the problem: four places drew the sidebar toggle with separate labels and visibility rules, and screens opted out with sidebar={false}. It describes the change through PaneContext, useSidebarToggle, and the removal of the AppBar sidebar prop. It includes before/after screenshots for the visible UI change. It also notes the stacked dependency. However, the Problem section is not headed as the template requires. The Scope and approval section is missing: it has no linked triaged issue or maintainer-approved discussion, and no explanation of why the change qualifies without one. The Verification section lists no tests or manual checks run and no observed results. It also lacks the model and harness note. Some template sections are missing or incomplete, so the description is not fully compliant.
Resolution
Add a Problem section with a short description of the bug or the cause, including expected behavior and reproduction steps. Add a Scope and approval section that links the triaged issue or maintainer-approved discussion, or explains why this refactor qualifies without one. Add a Verification section that lists the focused tests or manual checks run on the changed behavior, with observed results and anything not checked. Restructure the existing text under these headings. Keep the template's agent model note at the end.

Scope the suppression to overlay headers, not all embedded AppBars.
The card-presented pull-request and thread-settings pickers can render the workspace sidebar toggle beside their back control. Do not fix this with !props.embedded: the Threads and Pull requests workspace content also uses embedded and must retain its toggle. Add a distinct overlay-only marker for the card picker headers and use that marker in the default-toggle branch.

Re the outside-diff comment on the Android AppBar sidebar toggle (around lines 161-166):
Update: I briefly hid the toggle on any bar with a back button and have reverted that. On main, thread tool pages (the Files list, a file page, review, terminal) showed back and the toggle together, so that rule regressed them. See the reply on the inline thread.
This layer's rule is that every content-pane bar draws the sidebar toggle, and sheets and overlays (no pane role) don't. That matches iOS split view, where a pushed page keeps the sidebar button beside its back button. Pickers pushed into the content column get the toggle like any other content page. That's intentional, so there's no change here.

Four places drew the sidebar toggle: the iOS AppBar, the native header
item, the Android header button, and the iOS empty detail column. Each
had its own label and visibility rule, and screens opted out one by one
with sidebar={false}.
The workspace shell now tells each screen which column it renders in
(PaneContext: sidebar, content, inspector), from the iOS native columns,
the JS columns and Android Settings' list. One useSidebarToggle shows the
button in the content pane when columns are showing and the sidebar can
move: not beside a list that keeps it, and not on a workspace page that
covers it. AppBar loses its sidebar prop. A screen that sets its own
left header items, like the thread, keeps them instead.
Visible changes: content pages that opted out now have the toggle, such
as iPad Settings pages and Android archived threads, files and new task.

… (Checking for new T3 Code product text)
Failing check: Checking for new T3 Code product text
The brand-copy check ("Checking for new T3 Code product text") failed on one line: `title="T3 Code"` in `apps/mobile/src/features/pull-requests/PullRequestToolbar.android.tsx`.
Upstream added that prop in its Android header refactors (pingdotgg#26741, where every header goes through `AppBar`, and pingdotgg#27086), and the merge brought it in. Loom had already branded the rest of this file with `BRAND_NAME` behind `fork: brand` markers, but this was a new line with the name hard-coded.
I changed it to `title={BRAND_NAME} // fork: brand`. That matches what the fork already does for the same `AppBar` prop in `ThreadListToolbar.android.tsx` and `WorkspaceRootScreen.tsx`. The file now has three brand-marked lines, so I raised its `brand` row in `docs/fork/seams.tsv` from 2 to 3 to keep the new seam guarded. I didn't touch the allowlist or any upstream code.
On rerun, the brand-copy check and `check_seams` both pass, and `vp lint` on the file gives no errors.

… (Typechecking apps/mobile)
Failing check: Typechecking apps/mobile
"Typechecking apps/mobile" failed in three fork-owned files: `src/fork/library/LibraryPage.tsx`, `src/fork/bots/BotControls.tsx` and `src/fork/connect/ConnectEmailAuthView.tsx`. Two upstream changes broke them. Upstream deleted `features/workspace/useWorkspaceSurface.ts` in 9aa80a0 (pingdotgg#27289), and its own callers now use `bg-screen`. Upstream also removed AppBar's `sidebar` prop in 29db71b (pingdotgg#27086): the bar now gets its sidebar toggle from the pane it sits in (`useSidebarToggle`), so callers no longer pass it.
I changed only the fork code, following what upstream did in its own files. In `LibraryPage` and `BotPage` I removed the `useWorkspaceSurface` import and call, and the surface is now `pageBack === undefined || deviceType === "duo-folded" ? "bg-screen" : "bg-sheet"`. That matches upstream's new rule in `SettingsScreen`, and the old hook gave `bg-screen` here too except on the folded Duo, which was already handled. I also removed the `sidebar=` props from those two pages and from the three AppBars in `ConnectEmailAuthView`, along with a comment that only explained the removed prop. Upstream dropped `sidebar={false}` from its own callers the same way. No upstream files, seams or `seams.tsv` rows changed.
I reran `(cd apps/mobile && pnpm exec vp run typecheck)` and it now passes with no errors. Lint and format also pass on the three files.
