fix(mobile): composer keeps the keyboard when a queued edit ends - #31317
#30308 put draftKey in the native composer's React key, so the editor remounts whenever its draft changes. Saving or cancelling a queued-message edit switches the composer from the edit draft back to the thread draft. The remount drops the keyboard on iOS and Android, and the composer loses focus. #30308 shipped in today's OTA.
The composer stays mounted across drafts again. The key was there so a pending iOS native callback from one draft could not land in the next. That now comes from the reset generation instead: when the editor switches drafts, it takes a fresh number from the shared reset counter, so its generation never moves backwards. The selected draft's own reset stamp can be older than one the editor already applied. Events stamped before the switch are dropped, and native applies the new draft's text as a reset. Resets of other drafts do not touch the editor. Clears that land in the background, such as a resolved question's attachments or a created task's pending draft, therefore cannot end IME composition or revert a keystroke in the focused composer. The change is JS-only and keeps the native fingerprint, so it can ship by OTA.
iOS, before (main 67eebaca23): type in the thread draft, Edit a queued message, Cancel, Edit again, Save. Both Cancel and Save leave the composer unfocused with no keyboard.
ios-before.mp4
iOS, after (d40f8783b4): same steps. The keyboard stays up, and the thread draft comes back focused after Cancel and Save.
ios-after.mp4
Android, before (main): Edit, Cancel, Edit, Save with Gboard. Gboard closes after Cancel and again about half a second after Save.

Android, after (d40f8783b4): Gboard stays up after Cancel and Save.
android-after.mp4
#30308 still holds, iOS, after: software-key taps enter hello wrold with world pending, then Send. The composer is empty.
ios-after-autocorrect.mp4
Setup: iPhone 17e simulator, iOS 27.0, and a Pixel 9 emulator, Android 35, with Gboard as the input method. Both ran the cached dev client for this checkout's native fingerprint, with Metro on shiv and an isolated Replay (dev) backend on corex. The before and after runs differ only in the JS bundle. The queue was held behind a supervised Replay approval. The head adds only a comment change on top of the tested commit.
Tests and checks
The second case in ComposerEditor.ios.test.tsx now asserts that the native view is not remounted on a draft switch. Its pending event also carries the generation the native view really had, where it used a hardcoded 0 before. It fails on main with expected 3 to be 2 (remount). It also fails with only the key dropped: expected 'Draft A corrected' to be 'Draft B'.

Not covered: Android's editor has no reset generation (#30308: "Android ignores the optional reset reader"). Before this PR, its protection against a native event still in flight during a draft switch came only from the remount. Android now behaves as it did before #30308. In that window, an event emitted before the switch but delivered after it can write the old draft's text into the new one. Closing that needs the reset handshake in the Kotlin view, a native change that would hold the keyboard fix until a store release. It belongs in a follow-up.
Also not covered: an iOS image paste whose async load finishes after a draft switch is attached to the newly selected draft. That is also how it worked before #30308. #30308's remount freed the old view, so the late result was silently dropped instead. A real fix needs the native paste to carry its starting generation, so it belongs in the same native follow-up.
Not shown: physical devices; thread switches (those remount the whole thread body and are unchanged).

pingdotgg#30308 keyed the native composer by draft, so ending or cancelling a queued
message edit remounted it and dropped the keyboard on iOS and Android. The
editor now stays mounted; on iOS, switching drafts takes a fresh reset
generation from the shared counter, which still keeps a pending native edit
from the previous draft out of the next one.

Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — The composer preserves keyboard focus across draft switches while advancing the existing reset generation to reject stale iOS edits. The change is limited to editor lifecycle and in-memory reconciliation, with no material operational or product-policy impact identified.

Walkthrough
The composer now keeps its native view mounted when the selected draft changes. The reset-generation hook assigns a fresh generation on draft switches. The iOS test checks that the view remains mounted and delivers the pending event with its captured revision values.
The hook tracks the selected draft and assigns a fresh reset generation when it changes. It returns the greater of that generation and the draft-specific atom value.

The native editor key now depends on visibility, not draft identity. The test checks that switching drafts does not remount the native view and uses the pending event’s captured revision values.
pingdotgg/t3code#17422: This issue describes stale iOS composer text across draft switches; this change adds a fresh reset generation when the selected draft changes.
pingdotgg/t3code#7390: This issue describes iOS composer state after a thread switch; this change updates reset-generation handling for draft switches.
Keeping the keyboard open after a queued edit ends is the intended fix. However, retaining the native view across draft switches lets a late Android text event overwrite the newly selected draft. It also lets a late iOS image paste attach to the wrong draft. Both need a narrow timing window, but they can silently change a user's draft. Consider closing these gaps, or accepting them explicitly, before merging.

Explanation
The title 'fix(mobile): composer keeps the keyboard when a queued edit ends' matches the main change. The PR removes the draft-based key on the native composer, which caused the remount that dropped the keyboard after a queued-message edit ended. The title is concise, uses a conventional commit prefix, and names the user-visible symptom and the affected area.
Full details: Description check
Explanation
The description is detailed and covers the problem (keyboard drops after a queued-message edit ends, caused by the #30308 draft-keyed remount), the change (keyed by visibility only; iOS reset generation on draft switch), scope context (linked to #30308, JS-only and OTA-safe, Android and thread-switch gaps called out), and verification (before/after screenshots and recordings for iOS and Android, a focused test with failing-before results, and a check run). The template's Scope and approval section is not clearly addressed: it does not link a triaged bug issue or maintainer-approved discussion, and it does not explain why the fix qualifies without one. The description also does not state a conventional commit title, which the template asks for. Those gaps are real but do not make the description largely incomplete.

- Line 180: Update the `ComposerEditor` draft-key handling so Android cannot
apply a queued edit from a canceled or saved draft to the newly selected draft.
Before removing the Android draft key, establish a reset handshake that rejects
stale text events; if that handshake is not available, retain the draft key on
Android. Preserve the existing reset-generation behavior on other platforms.
- Line 180: Update the ComposerEditor paste flow so pending iOS image results
remain associated with the draft active when the paste began: capture that
draft’s generation at paste start, then reject stale results or route them to
the originating draft when onNativePasteImages receives them. Preserve the
existing hidden/visible key behavior.
