fix(mobile): release inactive draft Git status demand - #25254
An inactive retained mobile draft route selects a real project and holds Git-status demand for a repository whose draft is not visible.
Change
Gate only the Git-status query with the route’s active flag. Keep route-local flow state, derived workspace/branch defaults, cached refs, project settings and file reads available. Deactivation releases the reader through the existing atom idle grace; another reader can still retain shared demand.
Current main moved queued editing and workspace-default ownership out of the old provider. This contribution preserves that refactor and does not reintroduce the removed synchronization effects or claim to retain a closing queued edit here.
Scope and approval
This qualifies for the very small, focused obvious-bug exception in the contribution guide: a retained, invisible draft unnecessarily keeps Git-status demand alive. The fix adds the existing route-active flag to that one query's eligibility, with regression tests and their test-project routing. It changes no product defaults, data mutations or persistence format. Audit tracker: #189.
Verification
Integrated upstream dac8b11. The three focused tests mount the production provider and query hooks with the real AtomRegistry/subscription factory and fixture source/storage boundaries. Inactive mount avoids acquiring status; deactivation releases demand after idle grace; reveal reacquires it. The exact-main negative control fails the intended regression. Derived connected-pending and offline cached defaults remain covered by the current fixtures.
Independent Codex/GPT-6.1 Sol high review found no actionable source findings and independently passed all three tests. CI=true vp run check:changed dac8b11ddc25bd5da62a367fdb6c3de777ae2986 passed after the merge commit, covering only this contribution.
Counts measure fixture stream operations, not wire traffic or energy. Historical iOS draft close/reopen/relaunch proof predates this route-local refactor and was not repeated here. Current native route/clipboard/share/shortcut navigation, real project/environment retargeting and Android remain unverified. No visible appearance change is intended.
Implemented and independently reviewed in separate GPT-6.1 Sol/high sessions through Codex in T3 Code.
Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — Inactive mobile draft routes stop retaining Git-status demand, while active routes keep their existing behavior. The change is limited to subscription lifetime and test routing, with no persistence or product-default changes.

Walkthrough
NewTaskFlowProvider now skips project Git status queries when the flow is inactive. New tests cover status subscriptions, draft retention, workspace selection, stale status updates, and offline cached defaults.

Explanation
The title "fix(mobile): release inactive draft Git status demand" matches the main change. The raw summary shows the Git-status query now runs only when the flow is active and a project has a workspace root. The change also adds a regression test suite and routes that test in the Vite config. The title names the mobile scope, the fix type, the affected query, and the inactive-draft condition. It does not mention the test additions, but the title does not need to cover every detail.
Full details: Description check
Explanation
The description follows the template sections (Problem, Change, Scope and approval, Verification). Problem explains that an inactive retained draft holds Git-status demand. Change states that only the Git-status query is gated by the route's active flag and describes what stays available. Scope and approval invokes the small-obvious-bug exception, links audit tracker #189, and states that no product defaults, data mutations, or persistence format change. Verification lists three focused tests, the negative control, the CI command with its commit hash, and the unverified areas (native navigation, retargeting, Android). The template's preamble comment about the CONTRIBUTING.md link and the invoked agent's model/harness line are present or partly addressed, and the link to the upstream integration commit is a reference rather than a linked triaged issue. The Scope section relies on an exception claim and an audit tracker, not on a triaged issue or maintainer approval comment, which a reviewer should confirm. No screenshots are needed because no visible change is intended.

Assert status-stream retention before canceling the queued edit.
The test emits the cached status before render(false). The later isGitRepo assertion can use that cached value, so the test can still pass if deactivation releases the status stream while the queued edit remains pending. Add an assertion after render(false) that the status stream is still active, or emit a status update after deactivation and assert that the provider consumes it. Keep the existing flush assertions.

Addressed the queued-edit retention nitpick in 3404dd6. The test now advances beyond the idle grace, verifies the /b status stream remains acquired, and consumes a fresh capability update while the route is inactive. The original flush assertions remain unchanged. All four focused tests and check:changed pass; fresh read-only review found no actionable issues.
kept saphid's one-condition fix and contributor history, and merged current main (e5909e53c32a). removed obsolete queued-edit mocks. corrected the retarget fixture to clear workspace selection like production, then made the retention test choose and assert its branch after retargeting through separate user actions. the final diff stays in the original three files and is 17 lines smaller.
verification: current main's exact provider code fails the inactive-acquire, idle-release and reveal assertions. all three focused tests pass with the fix. blacksmith vp run check:changed e5909e53c32a9d5b51caf6352d1f17fd73e86db7 passed format, lint, knip, affected typechecks, focused tests and react compiler checks.
unverified: native iOS/Android navigation and real server subscription traffic. this changes hidden subscription demand, with no intended visible appearance change or measured native performance claim.

created the separate main worktree and checked out the exact pr head. native device discovery returned Agent device access is turned off for this environment. local adb devices -l returned an empty device list, and there is no local android avd directory. the mobile verification workflow requires stopping when device access is unavailable. no dev server, dependency install, provider turn or test was run, and no code was changed or pushed. no screenshots or recording are available because the affected client could not be launched. the stored pr status reports 33 successful checks, zero pending and zero failing; that is ci status only.

original bug reproduction on main; inactive draft subscription release after idle grace; reveal reacquisition; shared demand retained by another reader; draft, branch and workspace selection retention; offline defaults; real server subscription traffic; codex gpt-6.1-sol turns through the mobile client; native ios and android navigation.
completion requires an enabled native android or ios device connected to an isolated dev server. create the project and draft through that client, cover the draft with a real thread, observe git-status demand after idle grace, reveal the draft, and repeat on main and this exact head. browser screenshots or a standalone server subscription would not establish the mobile route lifetime behavior.
