docs: composer banner guidance names a consumer that still exists - #28276
docs/internals/web-ui.md holds up ComposerActivityStatus.tsx as the example of a composer banner consumer, but #25401 deleted that file, so the link is dead. The ui-consistency review agent in .macroscope/check-run-agents/ui-consistency.md names the same deleted file as its example.
Change
Both files now point at ComposerPlanFollowUpBanner.tsx. It still exists and is a few lines of Row, Icon and Content slots.
The review agent's rule said consumers have "no styling of their own", but the new example styles its own text spans. The rule now says consumers style only their own content, and web-ui.md says the slots carry the banner styling.
The review agent also stops naming ComposerStashBadge.tsx as an example. The badge sets classes on its own Root and Row and renders its row as a <button>, so it breaks that rule. Keeping it would point the review bot at a counterexample.
Scope and approval
This is a very small fix for an obvious defect: a dead link and a stale example in internal guidance. It changes no code or behavior, so it falls under the obvious-bug exception in CONTRIBUTING.md. No open PR or issue covers it.
Verification
git grep ComposerActivityStatus finds no reference anywhere in the repo.
The new relative link from docs/internals/web-ui.md resolves to apps/web/src/components/chat/ComposerPlanFollowUpBanner.tsx, which ChatComposer.tsx renders.
vp run check:changed passes (format; knip and the dependency checks are skipped because no code changed).
No UI evidence is attached because this changes only documentation and a review-agent prompt, so no screen changes.
Not checked:
A Macroscope ui-consistency run against the new prompt.
Prior PRs
None. #25401 removed ComposerActivityStatus.tsx and left these two references behind.
ComposerActivityStatus.tsx was deleted in pingdotgg#25401, but docs/internals/web-ui.md
still links it as the reference consumer and the ui-consistency review agent
still names it. Point both at ComposerPlanFollowUpBanner.tsx. The review agent
also stops citing ComposerStashBadge.tsx, which styles its own Root and Row and
so contradicts the "no styling of their own" claim it was an example of.

Walkthrough
Two composition guidance documents update their ComposerBanner styling guidance and consumer example. The web UI documentation now identifies ComposerPlanFollowUpBanner.tsx as the example consumer.
The consistency guidance permits consumers to style their own content. The web UI documentation identifies ComposerPlanFollowUpBanner.tsx as the consumer example and states that its slots carry the banner styling.
The guidance update is ready to merge after normal checks.

Full details: Description check
Explanation
The description follows the repository's template closely. It has Problem, Change, Scope and approval, and Verification sections. The Problem section states the dead link to ComposerActivityStatus.tsx, which PR #25401 deleted, and the stale example in the review-agent prompt. The Change section names the replacement file ComposerPlanFollowUpBanner.tsx and the reworded consumer rule. It also explains why ComposerStashBadge.tsx is removed as an example. The Scope and approval section invokes the obvious-bug exception for a documentation-only fix and states that no prior issue or discussion exists. The Verification section lists concrete checks: a git grep with no remaining references, a link resolution check, and vp run check:changed passing with format only. It also states what was not checked: a Macroscope ui-consistency run. The template's closing request to name the model and harness is met by the 'Generated with' line. The only gap is that the obvious-bug justification is brief. It does not cite the CONTRIBUTING.md text, so a reviewer must check that the exception applies. This is a minor gap, so the description is mostly complete.

ComposerPlanFollowUpBanner.tsx puts text classes on its own spans, so the
ui-consistency rule that consumers have "no styling of their own" flagged
the example it cites. Say consumers style only their own content and leave
banner styling to the slots, and say the same in web-ui.md.

verified head 12dc9c4163ef263673436a52c89a367bfa2d0e0b as-is. this pr changes two guidance files, with no runtime code changes.
reproduced on github/main (575579d68ac4bae09f8426a345d4a3eac1e90c67): the documentation links to the nonexistent ComposerActivityStatus.tsx, and the review prompt names it while prohibiting the content styling its surviving example uses.
checked out the exact contributor head and ran vp i. the replacement documentation link resolves to ComposerPlanFollowUpBanner.tsx; ChatComposer.tsx renders it. its Row, Icon, and Content slots own banner styling, while its spans style content. neighboring links to ComposerBanner.tsx and ComposerBannerStack.tsx also resolve.
ran main and the pr sequentially with separate dev state. used repo Playwright and /usr/bin/google-chrome, added a project pointing at the real repository through the ui, enabled settings > labs > plan mode (legacy), and selected Codex gpt-6.1-sol.
submitted the same plan request on both. both real provider turns completed and displayed "Plan ready" with "Banner verification", proving the documented consumer is reachable.
on the pr, entered feedback and clicked Refine. Codex returned a two-step plan and the banner returned. switched to Build and sent a normal message; the completed response was normal reply verified. no files changed. no mocks, fixtures, replay provider, or demo data were used.
vp run check:changed 15fe2832727893cbdd2214383f9f971474849695 passed through blacksmith-check after fetching the missing ancestor history. format passed for both files; code/dependency checks were correctly skipped. the head currently has 28 successful CI checks.
main baseline, same prompt and banner title:
pr head:
plan refinement through the real provider, captured at 5 fps; this is interaction evidence, not a latency measurement:
execution of the changed ui-consistency prompt by Macroscope. local inspection establishes that its example and styling guidance match the source; it does not prove future review-agent judgments. no review bot was invoked.
native iOS/Android and macOS/Windows desktop clients, other providers, relay/tunnel connections, and external services. verification used the Linux dev web client with Codex through the local proxy.
no fix or push was needed. verified with gpt-6.1-sol through the Codex harness in T3 Code.
