feat(claude): expose Ultracode on Claude Sonnet 5.5 and Haiku 5.5 - #30781
Claude Code supports Ultracode on Claude Sonnet 5.5 (CLI 2.1.284+) and Claude Haiku 5.5 (CLI 2.1.293+), but the model manifest only offered it on the Opus and Fable profiles, so T3 Code never showed the Ultracode toggle for those two models.
Change
Added the ultracode option to the haiku-5-5 profile.
Gave claude-sonnet-5-5 its own sonnet-5-5 profile with the same option. It used to share sonnet-5 with claude-sonnet-5, so adding Ultracode there would have also offered it on Sonnet 5.
No effortMap.ultracode entry: servers turn the manifest's ultracode effort level into the Ultracode toggle (#27034) before any effort mapping. Old saved effort: "ultracode" selections still become xhigh with Ultracode on.
Verification
Ran a real Haiku 5.5 turn on a dev server from this branch, at Low effort with Ultracode on. Claude Code launched with --effort=low --model=claude-haiku-5-5 --settings {"ultracode":true,…} and replied. Selections compile as expected: Sonnet 5.5 and Haiku 5.5 get Ultracode at any effort, and Sonnet 5 never does.
Released servers pick up this manifest from main and will show Ultracode for these two models, but they start turns from their bundled catalog, so it has no effect there until they update. A follow-up PR makes turns use the downloaded catalog.

Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — Adds opt-in Ultracode reasoning for Claude Sonnet 5.5 and Haiku 5.5 using existing adapter support. Existing reasoning defaults remain unchanged, limiting the effect to users who select the new mode.

The model manifest adds a Sonnet 5.5 profile with reasoning options and a fixed context window. It adds Ultracode to Haiku 5.5 and updates Sonnet 5.5 to use the new profile.

Summary
Define Claude 5.5 effort profiles apps/server/src/provider/model-manifest.json
The manifest adds the Sonnet 5.5 profile with reasoning choices, High as the default, an Ultrathink prompt injection, and a fixed context window of 1,000,000 tokens. Haiku 5.5 adds the Ultracode reasoning option. Sonnet 5.5 now references the new profile, and the manifest timestamp is updated.
pingdotgg/t3code#22265: The PR exposes Ultracode for Sonnet 5.5 and Haiku 5.5 but does not change the live effort-change path described in the issue.

Released servers can send an incorrect effort value for the new Ultracode choices. The compatibility issue is bounded; adding the mappings restores the intended behavior.

[ #30780 ] The manifest changes add Ultracode to the requested models. The Sonnet profile split prevents the change from affecting Sonnet 5. The timestamp update supports the manifest change. No unrelated change is demonstrated.
Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
[ #30780 ] The manifest adds Ultracode to Haiku 5.5 and to a separate Sonnet 5.5 profile. This avoids changing Sonnet 5. The issue also requests catalog unit coverage. ClaudeModelCatalog.test.ts tests a synthetic model but does not test Ultracode for either 5.5 model. The manifest does not add the proposed effortMap.ultracode entries. The PR description says the server handles Ultracode before effort mapping, but the available inspection does not independently verify that behavior.
Resolution
Add catalog unit tests for Ultracode on Sonnet 5.5 and Haiku 5.5. Verify the toggle and legacy effort handling against the current server behavior.

verified unchanged head 3fab01de44922580baa3a9ac9174c773f36bef1f on a linux vm with playwright 1.60.0, /usr/bin/google-chrome, and claude code 2.1.318. ran main and the pr sequentially with isolated dev state. created a project pointing at a real git repo through the app. used real provider turns through the local authenticated proxy, without mocks or seeded data.
reproduced on github/main (9e85538535): sonnet 5.5 and haiku 5.5 omit ultracode. their defaults are high and medium.
on the pr, both pickers offer ultracode. sonnet and haiku each completed a real turn with ultracode selected.
the provider log confirms sonnet launches with effort: "xhigh" and the ultracode setting. the actual process arguments contain --effort xhigh and --settings {"ultracode":true,"showThinkingSummaries":true}.
switching to haiku sends query.set_model for claude-haiku-5-5 and query.apply_flag_settings with effortLevel: "xhigh", ultracode: true. the response reports claude-haiku-5-5.
reloading preserves haiku ultracode. switching back to medium sends effortLevel: "medium", ultracode: null, and another real turn completes.
codex gpt-6.1-sol completed real web-client turns on main and the pr.
blacksmith: 8 focused catalog/model-option tests passed. vp run check:changed FETCH_HEAD passed against the pr base after fetching the exact head and base into the worker: format, lint, knip, graphql generation check, affected typechecks, and 6 selected tests. all 33 reported ci checks are successful.
native ios/android and electron clients, macos/windows, and remote/relay/tunnel connections were not exercised on this linux vm. claude requests used the local proxy rather than a direct anthropic subscription. this verifies option selection, persistence, provider flag propagation, and successful responses; the short prompts did not exercise ultracode's multi-agent workflow orchestration.

Takeover update
merged main into the branch with a merge commit (14206b5920). the only conflict was the manifest updatedAt; kept the pr's newer date. the pr diff is otherwise unchanged. vp run check:changed and the catalog and manifest tests pass, and all 29 ci checks are green.
coderabbit's outside-diff note: legacy claude-sonnet-5 shares the sonnet-5 profile, so it also gets ultracode. that is intended. the manifest already offers ultracode on every profile with xhigh effort, including the older opus-5 and opus-4-8.

Confirm that the legacy claude-sonnet-5 model supports Ultracode.
The sonnet-5 profile adds Ultracode for both claude-sonnet-5-5 and the legacy claude-sonnet-5. The linked issue requests Ultracode only for claude-sonnet-5-5 and claude-haiku-5-5. The legacy entry declares no minVersion, so the manifest does not gate Ultracode for that model. Selecting Ultracode on the legacy model can send ultracode: true to a model whose support this change does not establish.
Confirm that the legacy model supports Ultracode. If it does not, move the Ultracode option and effortMap entry out of the shared sonnet-5 profile, or add a model-level gate. Add a catalog test for the legacy model.
